So, 11th of August was a big day… The first time in 11 years that Audina has seen water (other than rain) and she floats! (Well mostly.)
I won’t pretend that it all went perfectly swimmingly. In fact we would have been swimming if we did not lift her out for a few “tweaks.” Not surprisingly for a boat of her age, when launching her into salt water for the first time in far too long we had a leaky skin fitting, (the heads) so we had to quickly get her out and re seal it before launch take 2.
On the second attempt we then left her to sit at the end of the pontoon at SYC Shoreham, to make sure we didn’t have any other leaks that needed fixing.
Once we were satisfied she was dry we motored down the River Adur and through the lock to a temporary mooring on Southwick canal.
Still lots to do but one major milestone! Here are a few photos of her on the big day 🙂
